The Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2019 will be awarded to artists that show significant potential, interesting ideas, a relevant message and skillful execution. We understand that talented artists exist in many forms, so endeavour to appeal to emerging artists of all ages and career paths, whether student, graduate, full-time or part-time, and from any country.


The Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2019 will be awarded to artists that show significant potential, interesting ideas, a relevant message and skillful execution. Ashurst's aim in sponsoring the Emerging Artist Prize and Emerging Artist Programme is to find, build and support the careers of talented international emerging artists and get their art seen by a wider audience.


The Prizes
The Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize:
£3,000 cash prize award, and £500 Cass Art voucher

Criteria for Artists & Artworks
Main Entry Details:
(1) There is no restriction on the artist regarding age, training or nationality. You may enter from any country, and can be based in any country.
(2) All types of art, except for performance, are accepted for this competition. 
(3) The artist must not have exclusive representation, to enter this art competition.
(4) Artwork size must be less than 275cm x 275cm x 50cm for artworks to be hung on the wall, and less than 275cm x 275cm x 200cm for sculptures. If you are unsure, please contact us.
(5) Once you have completed the online entry form, you will be sent to the payment page to pay the entry fee. Please select the correct payment option and enter your name in the notes.
(6) Entry Fee is £20 for first artwork, then £10 per additional artwork, up to a maximum 5 artworks. You can pay in US Dollars and Euros too. If you wish to pay in any other currency, please contact us.
(7) To also be considered for the New Media Artist Prize, you must clearly specify details of your medium and submit a still image that represents the artwork, and can submit a WeTransfer link to download the sound or video file.

New Media Award Entry Details
(1) If you are submitting a new media artwork then you need to submit a photo that represents it in some way, and you can share a WeTransfer link to download the multimedia, sound or video file in the artwork commentary section of the form. It should be less than 100Mb for judging purposes.
(2) Please outline what AV or display needs you would require and what you intend to supply yourself
(3) Submissions must be considerate of the size and orientation of the gallery space. We are restricted to 275cm x 275cm x 200cm sizes
(4) We are open to work that encompasses moving images, mobile apps, interactive installations, and sound art. If you are unsure of whether your work is eligible please contact us directly on info@artprize.co.uk


Timetable
The competition consists of two stages.
Stage 1: Entered via the online form here. Deadline for entries is midnight Sunday 10th February 2019.
Shortlisted artists will be notified and invited to send in the chosen artworks to Ashurst's London HQ by 21st April 2019, for exhibiting and final stages of judging.
Shortlisted artists will be announced to the public in April 2019.
The Shortlist Exhibition will be on display to the public from 29th April to 2nd August 2019

Stage 2: Judging will take place and the winners announced in July 2019.
Shortlisted artworks will be available for collection in August 2019.
The winners will be invited to curate, with the support of the organisers, an exhibition of their artworks in the Ashurst Emerging Artists Gallery and HQ for 12th August to 28th December 2019.

24th Sep 2018: Open for Entries via the online form HERE.
*25th Nov 2018, 11:59pm: Closing Date for Entries if you wish to receive detailed feedback on your application.
**10th Feb 2019, 11:59pm: Final closing Date for Entries. Please enter as early as possible so we ask for errors to be fixed and work with you to correct them, as we can't accept corrections after this date.
22nd Apr 2019: Those Shortlisted in Stage 1 will be announced to the public.
8th - 21st Apr 2019: Shortlisted artists to deliver the original artworks to the Ashurst London offices.
29th Apr - 2nd Aug 2019: Shortlisted entries will be publicly exhibited in the Ashurst Emerging Artists Gallery for final judging.
Jul 2019: Prize winners will be announced.
29th Jul - 9th Aug 2019: Winners to deliver the artworks to the Ashurst London offices.
5th Aug - 18th Aug 2019: Shortlisted artworks to be collected from Ashurst.
12th Aug - 20th Dec 2019: Winners exhibitions will be open to the public at Ashurst's London offices.
30th Dec - 19th Jan 2019: Winners to collect artworks from Ashurst.
